Mission

The mission of the Office of Community Health Systems and Health Promotion is to ensure healthier communities across West Virginia through promoting healthier lifestyles, managing health information, and decreasing disease, injury, disability, and premature death.

West Virginia Healthy Lifestyles Coalition

The West Virginia Healthy Lifestyle Coalition was established by the WV Legislature in 2005. The mission of the Coalition is to assure consistency of the public health and private sector approach to dealing with programs that address the problems that affect overweight and obese individuals; provide a forum for discussion of the issues that affect healthy lifestyles; and identify best practices that can be replicated. The Coalition is chaired by First Lady, Gayle Manchin, and is facilitated by the Office of Healthy Lifestyles located within OEHP.
