The Division of Rural Health serves as the focal point for rural health issues in West Virginia and contributes to innovative approaches for addressing rural health care needs of our citizens. The Division collaboratively plans and develops policy, provides technical assistance and provides statewide coordination of rural health activities.

The Division of Recruitment assists West Virginia's rural and medically underserved communities in their efforts to recruit and retain qualified health care providers and ultimately alleviate the shortage of medical providers in the state's rural areas.
